Steinbach Arts Council: Enriching Southeastern Manitoba

The Steinbach Arts Council is home to 60 arts programs, 11 arts organizations, and a hive of activity that draws in more than 500 people every week. The audiences and participants in the range of programs totals in the thousands, creating a vibrant arts community in the southeastern region. The council has created an environment that allows visual and performing arts groups to come together under one roof, sharing their talents with each other and the rest of the community.

The SAC is particularly proud of its annual concert series, offering five shows each season, and this coming season offers a great range of entertainment, which started with the Celtic fun of Everything Fitz October 22. Everything Fitz is a family band featuring high energy fiddling and lively step dancing.

On December 8, the Winnipeg Symphony Orchestra performs their annual Holiday Pops Concert at the Steinbach Mennonite Church and then the Manitoba Theatre Centre production of Tempting Providence comes to the Steinbach Regional Secondary School on January 27. In the spring, violin virtuoso Jean-Sébastien Roy and pianist Mathieu Gaudet come to the Grace Church on March 12, performing works by composers such as Mathieu, Suk, Bloch and Beethoven.
