Flin Flon Arts Council: The North's Cultural tour de force

The Flin Flon Arts Council is called Northern Manitoba’s Cultural Tour de Force for a reason. Celebrating over 25 years of arts and culture promotion, this arts council boasts extraordinary artistic success stories. Flin Flon showcases many professional performing arts tours. It is the proud supporter of the Flin Flon Community Choir which has performed with the WSO, Saskatoon Symphony, Carnegie Hall, and has three original musicals: Three Brides for Kasos and the nationally acclaimed Bombertown.

The Council also supports the local theatre company Ham Sandwich, the Northern Palette Art Club, Quilter’s and Pottery Clubs, countless workshops and the largest Christmas Arts and Craft Sale in northern Manitoba. The Aurora Art Gallery supports the many talented visual artists located in the area.

The upcoming Season includes Flin Flon Arts Council’s 29th Annual Christmas Arts and Craft Sale Nov. 7. On Nov 18 at the Dufflebag Theatre, it’s Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. Dec 5 and 6 it’s Jingle all the Way with the Flin Flon Community Choir which shares the stage this Christmas with folk legend Heather Bishop. Dec. 17 and 18 Oliver Twist is being staged by the local theatre group Ham Sandwich. Tom Jackson is in town Jan 10 and MTC brings Tempting Providence to town in February.

March 13, 2010 the Flin Flon Community Choir joins the Saskatoon Symphony Orchestra in Carmina Burana in Saskatoon SK. (Season Pass does not apply). April 10, Ham Sandwish presents Speaking in Tongues.

Season passes, 5 Shows for $55, are available from the Flin Flon Arts Council. Still the best deal in town!
